Standing on rue Saint-Louis or Sainte Anne in Vieux Quebec, the old walled city of Quebec, it's easy to imagine that somehow you've arrived in France without having taken a plane or boat to get there. Cobblestone streets, cafes with unscreened windows thrown open to the sidewalk, folks walking home with fresh baguettes and cheeses, table d'hote service all add to the ambience as do people speaking French, the language of the city and Belle Province. Walking is the key to enjoying old Quebec and the lower town.

. La Citadelle The official web site is www.lacitadelle.qc.ca Welcome to La Citadelle of Québec. This national historical site, also known as the Gibraltar of America, is the best place to begin a trip into the military past and present of Québec City. The one-hour guided tour will provide you information about the American attacks, the construction of the fortress and its buildings.
