Smith Falls

Smith Falls offers many activities for the family starting with the Hershey Chocolate Factory then you can visit the Train Museum followed by a stop at the Rideau Canal Museum while here you must stop and enjoy the 'Locks' and talk a walk along the water. Don't forget the Heritage House Museum and be sure to visit the many local shops and take in the fresh air. While visiting Smith Falls be sure to head to nearby Merrickville for the Blockhouse Museum and visit another set of locks along with some great shopping to be had in the collection of stores along the main street.

	These locks are the new ones that replaced the original, these are hydraulically operated and are much taller than the original locks. The original locks dropped in three stages where these drop to the same level in one drop!
