Mont Tremblant Resort

Mont Tremblant Resort is a large year round resort about one and a half hours north of Montreal. It is best known as a ski destination, but also features a lake suitable for swimming, and a golf course in the summer months plus many onsite activities such as water parks, biking, hiking and the ability to ride a Gondola up to the peak of Mont Tremblant. The name of the mountain, Mont Tremblant, means "trembling mountain" in French. The summit is at an elevation of 875 m (3,150 feet), which makes it the tallest peak in the Laurentians. The area is ideal for a family or couples as the area offers such a variety of activities every age group.

Directions to Mont Tremblant from Ottawa
Take autoroute 50 East. Get onto 148 East to Montebello. Take 323 North to Saint-Jovite. Turn left to get on the 117 North in Saint-Jovite. Take exit 119 (Montée Ryan) to Chemin Duplessis and follow indications for Tremblant Resort. 2 hours.

Alpine Luge
A fun-filled gravity ride on a 3-wheel-cart using a unique breaking and steering system that gives the rider a full control as you twist and turn down the mountain.

Schedule:

  • From the 20th of May to the 18th of June,
    open Saturday and Sunday from 10 am to 5:30 pm
  • From the 24th of June to 31st of August
    open every day from 10 am till late
  • From September 1st to the 9th of October
    open every day from 10am to 5:30 pm
  • Closing time may change without prior notice

Panoramic Gondola
Ride the panoramic gondola to the top of the highest peak in the Laurentians and discover spectacular views and a wide range of activities.

Pros

  • With the village of Mont Tremblant so close one can stay close to the main resort for a fraction of the cost of staying on-site
  • The pedestrian village (due to its pedestrian-only layout) offers, shopping, nightlife, après-ski scene and slope side accommodations.

Cons

  • Very expensive for on site parking and most places to eat are more expensive than they need to be a large family will quickly burn through a sizable sum if staying for a while.
  • With so many activities a family can again spend through a sizable sum if staying for a while.
