PN Speedy BB
They claim as many others do that this is the fastest non-turbo motor one can buy. We will see!
**4/13/05** This just might be the fastest motor which does not require a fet upgrade. First of all it has plenty of torque, so much so I had to hold the car down on the dyno to keep it from flying off during the speed test. In my 4wd Lithium Skyline it hit 30 mph. I know I have a couple of non fet upgrade motors on this site that have faster top end but none showed the power like this one. Well maybe the Torque-Tuned. Anyway I will put it in my Civic which I can scale from 4 to 7 cells and let you know the results. By the way I got it on EBay for 20 bucks. Ok at 4 cells this motor hit 20.46 mph, 28.52 mph at 6 cells, and 31 mph at 7 cells. The only upgrade I have in the Civic which I used in the test is a carbon shaft. Looks like this is the fastest Non fet motor!

Stage 2 SpinBrush
These numbers don’t make much sense to me so I will redo them with a different SpinBrush. To anyone who doesn’t know a Spinbrush is a stage 2 motor with the magnets from a Crest Spinbrush tooth brush added. It gives the stage 2 some punch.
Ok I made another one and got very similar results. It just goes to show you … rpm sells motors and torque wins races. This motor performs better than a stock RS but spins slower.

XTR
Another Motor claiming it is the fastest not fet upgrade motor. Well I put this motor in my Lithium Skyline with 11 tooth gear and it hit 25 mph on the speedchecker and on the Street it had good punch. They sell on eBay for about 20 bucks.

Tamiya Rev-Tuned
It Finally arrived. I have not put this motor into a car yet so only rpm data available.
I put it in my new EVO and it hit 18 mph. I will get it in a old XMOD soon.

This motor requires a fet upgrade so off to my 9 amp Supra it went. It hit 32mph with the Lithium setup and had good torque. It is selling on eBay for $10 dollars.

PN Racing S01
It came in this weekend so I slapped it in my supra and tested away. With the lithium setup in hit 35 mph and had a lot of torque. I wish I had a good way to test torque but right now I don’t so I am sorry for that. This is my 2nd PN motor I have tested and it looks so far like PN Racing makes great motors.

PN Racing Anima
Neo Mags, BB case, 33 turns, and big Comm. Hmm sounds like a fast motor….we will see.
I have read that this Motor is very similar to the Fatboy that AtomicMods sells. First it has torque as well as speed. It topped out at 33 mph in my Supra which has lithium’s and a 9 amp fet upgrade. I thought it would be faster. I did not get it in the street but will soon.
On the Street it performed well and is one of my faster motors. |

Falcon III slot car motor
This motor is advertised at 46,000 rpm. That is at 12 volts. Since most XMods run at 4.8 or 6.0 than don’t expect top end performance out of this motor. It does boast a lot of torque and if you follow my link to Moebrown’s site you can see video of it in action. A fet upgrade is not necessary but to get max performance it is recommended. I have not put this in a car yet.
I put it in my 9 amp Supra which has a lithium setup. It went 20 mph.

Note** I realize that some of you believe that it is wrong to relabeled motor to sell as your own. I had a similar opinion… then as I was sitting watch hockey on my Gateway plasma, which is a Sanyo relabeled I realized that I was wrong. I looked around at my other toys like my hot tub. Which is a Northern Spa, or a relabeled Hydro Spa. I can go on and on … This is a common business practice and as long as you support your product I have no issue. If anyone has an issue with my change in views email me and I would be glad to talk about it.

FatBoy HC
by AtomicMods.com
The FatBoy HC is a fet required motor brought to you by AtomicMods. I originally took a shot at them because it is made by the same company as the PN Anima. After more research I found out that although it is the same motor the intent was not to deceive but to provide a different look with AtomicMod support. This is explained in there FAQ. Like the Anima This motor went 33 mph and has a good amount of torque. The AtomicMods Fatboy costs a bit more than some motors and the price is reflected in the level of support provided. AtomicMods.com has loads of XMOD and Mini-Z information on their site as well as support both by email and by phone which is rare.

X-2 Light Speed Pro Edition
By PerformanceXmods
Silver wiring, Fat Comm, Spiral Armature, and 50 mph are just a few things this new edition features. I can’t wait. Well it is here and I finally was able to get the time to fully check it out. First at 4.8 volts it spun 65,075 RPM @ 6.68 amps (no Load). That is 3K faster than the plasmatomic at 7.2volts. I am unable to check the rpm at high volts due to the fact that it heats up too much. Since I fried my 9 amp supra I had to wait for some parts to get in, in order to test speed. I put the beast in my CLK which has a new EP from PerfomanceXmods. With stock parts and new lithiums added the motor hit 43 mph. I still have to add a carbon shaft and bearings so look for that number to increase by about 3 mph. Plus I was in a rush and wired the motor up backwards and had to use reverse on my controller! So it took over as my fastest motor I own by beating the plasmatomic by 6 mph and it is not done yet! I should be able to finish the CLK this week so look for updates. Hopefully I will get it on the street this next coming weekend. Ok everything is fixed. The result was 74 kph or 45.88 mph.
**Update** I put it in a stock old school XMOD with lithium and V2.2 board as the only upgrades and it hit 50.84 mph. |
